CASA Alameda County is a part of a national non-profit that serves children and youth in the foster care system. For children and youth facing the complex foster care system, a trusted mentor can make all the difference in the world. Alameda County Court Appointed Special Advocates (ACCASA) recruits, trains, and supports dedicated volunteers to be the constant in a child’s life — a person they can count on for compassion, guidance, advocacy, and information. The unique relationship expands the child’s world through enriching experiences and forges bonds that often last into successful adulthood. 

ASU Foundation for a new American University brings together ideas, people, and philanthropy to support ASU’s mission. It focuses on advancing student access, serving communities, protecting the planet, promoting equity in higher education, and conducting impactful research for the public good. 

One Thousand Schools, formerly Students Helping Honduras, is committed to alleviating poverty and violence in Honduras through education. Their mission is to build 1,000 schools in rural areas, providing secure learning environments for students. Since its inception, the organization has completed 67 schools, created jobs, and celebrated their first high school graduates from Villa Soleada Bilingual School, transforming communities through education.
